Evergreen Hereford Beef for the Freezer

We have a selection of fine bullocks and steers being prepared for freezer beef. Our beef begins with a polled Hereford fed all natural grain of soy hull pellets and corn gluten, supplemented with mineral. We use no steroids, hormones, or implants. Our herd is certified by the state of Florida to be free of brucellosis. Each animal is checked by a licensed veterinarian at least annually. You may purchase a quarter (half from the forequarter and half from the hindquarter), a half, or a whole beef. Animals are expected to weigh between 1000 and 1200 pounds at slaughter. The price is $ 1.00 per pound live weight, plus slaughter, cut and wrap. You pay Evergreen Farm for the animal and Newberry Cold Storage for the slaughter cut and wrap. Half of the payment (based on 1200 lb estimated weight) is due with your order and the balance is due 1 week prior to slaughter. (Animals purchased close to a scheduled slaughter date will require full payment at time of order.) The animal is weighed at slaughter and you are billed or refunded the difference based on the final weight. We deliver to Newberry Cold Storage for slaughter. The beef will be dry aged for 10-14 days, and then cut and wrapped. You pay Newberry Cold Storage the slaughter fee ($40 per animal, prorated based on the size of your order) and cutting and wrapping to your specifications. The standard cut and wrap fee is $0.40 per pound based on the hanging weight which is approximately 65% of the live weight. Once the sale is complete, we will give your name and phone number to Mr. Sanford Roberts at Newberry Cold Storage. He will contact you to go over your cutting order to be sure to give you the cuts you want. You pick up your order from Newberry Cold Storage and pay Newberry Cold Storage for the slaughter and cut and wrap. Animals are sold on a first come, first serve basis.
